From 2013's 'i-Cow' album, this is built around a drum loop I made from an old band rehearsal back in 2001. My mate Ally Clark was just warming up. It was rough but I loved the resonant bass drum sound caused in part by the fact that there was laminate flooring in the room and it was essentially a cheap kit. I listened to it endlessly and daydreamed a song inside it. It became clear through repeated listening that there was a guitar note at the very beginning which locked it roughly in the key of F# minor. The repeating feedback really adds to the overall mood of the piece too. It seemed such a shame to just do 1 song with that loop - I reckon I could have made a few.
